Where it is held

It takes place in Los Alcázares, Murcia. The seafront and beaches provide the setting for Día del Caldero, while town squares and municipal venues host the chupinazo, ambassadors’ gala, fairs, concerts and the institutional Premio Alkazar ceremony.

Events and traditions

Caldero rice is cooked in iron pots on the sand with fish, rice, dried red peppers and garlic. Group cooking, charangas and music turn the beach into a large community gathering on the eve of the municipal-autonomy anniversary.

Organisation and audience

The festival brings together local organisations, associations, participants and visitors. Check organisers’ notices for travel arrangements, bookings and last-minute changes.
