Most Holy Christ of Succour Patronal Festival in Meco

Meco holds its September festival in honour of the Santísimo Cristo del Socorro, the Most Holy Christ of Succour. Services and processions are joined by peña participation, a float parade, bull runs, family activities, music and gatherings in the town's squares.

Usual date

The festival takes place around the second week of September and runs for several days. The council programme combines the opening celebrations, taurine and family activities, Mass and processions devoted to Cristo del Socorro.

Venues and routes

Plaza de la Villa and Plaza de la Constitución host the opening address, orchestras, concerts and peña activities. The bullring and the route along Calle Espada, Romero, Barquillo and Camino Bujés are used for bull runs and releases. Parque de la Dehesa, El Verdoso and other municipal spaces complete the festival map.

Religious observances

Mass and the processions in honour of Santísimo Cristo del Socorro form the patronal heart of the celebration. The programme also reserves a High Mass before the final procession.
