Santísimo Cristo de la Misericordia Festival in Quer
Quer holds its patronal festivities around devotion to Santísimo Cristo de la Misericordia. Religious tradition shares the programme with peñas, music, food, sport and activities for different generations.
Usual date
The programme usually runs from late August into the first days of September. The principal day is 4 September, when the town holds the main Mass, floral offering, auction of the four carrying-pole arms and ribbons, and the procession.

Where it takes place
Events are spread across Plaza Mayor, Recinto Ferial, the church of Nuestra Señora la Blanca, Plaza Páez de Castro, Centro Cultural and Polideportivo La Dehesa. Central streets and squares also host the procession and peña activities.
The Cristo and its brotherhood
The image of Cristo de la Misericordia presides over the main altar in the church of Nuestra Señora la Blanca. The lowering of the image begins the principal religious observances, followed by the Miserere, main Mass, offering, auction of the carrying-pole arms and ribbons, and the procession with musical accompaniment.
Peñas and community participation
Peñas and associations help organise meals, music, games and youth activities. The Town Council coordinates the programme with the brotherhood, associations, Protección Civil, municipal staff and volunteers.
