Quer Santísimo Cristo de la Misericordia Festival 2026 programme

The official programme runs from Saturday 29 August to Sunday 6 September 2026, combining religious observances, peña events, music, community meals, sport and family activities.

Notice: arrangements may change. The closing fireworks are expressly dependent on the wildfire risk.

Saturday 29 August: Los Chupitos day

  • 20:30, premises in Plaza Mayor: Peña Los Chupitos dinner, pork loin or pancetta roll and drink for EUR4; advance tickets until 27 August.
  • 22:30, Town Hall balcony: opening address by Quer's peñas and opening firework.
  • 23:00, Plaza Mayor: Los Auténticos Farsantes, with music from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.
  • 01:30: the party continues with Peña Los Chupitos.

Sunday 30 August: Los Kuerre day

  • 11:00, Recinto Ferial: entrants gather for the second cookery competition, devoted to rice.
  • 11:00: Mass; at 11:30, the image of Cristo de la Misericordia is lowered.
  • 12:30, Recinto Ferial: Los de la Cruz brass band.
  • 15:00: judging; prizes at 16:00.
  • 16:00, Bar de la Piscina: mus card championship.
  • 17:00: Kuerre fairground stalls.
  • 20:00, Recinto Ferial: balloon popping and Las Bingueras.
  • 21:00: Peña Kuerre dinner.

Monday 31 August

  • 17:30, Plaza Páez de Castro: Boy Scouts challenge course for children aged 6-12.
  • 19:00: registration for the El Descontrol four-a-side football tournament; play begins at 19:30 and trophies are presented at 22:00.
  • 00:00: party with DJs Tapia and Bonilla, organised by Peña El Descontrol.

Tuesday 1 September

  • 17:30, Plaza Mayor: cycle circuit and on-the-day registration.
  • 19:00: registration for Juegos de Siempre; at 19:30, table football, darts, table tennis and other games by age category.
  • 21:30, square by Centro Cultural: folk dances.

Wednesday 2 September

  • 16:30: nest-box workshop with GREFA.
  • 18:30: traditional games organised by Asociación de Mujeres for children aged up to 12.
  • 20:00, football pitch at Polideportivo La Dehesa: ball football and paintball for ages 13 and over.

Thursday 3 September

  • 18:30, Recinto Ferial: Color Run.
  • 20:00: community dinner of eggs, potatoes and peppers.
  • 21:00: Peñas and Associations Night with Karaokuerr.
  • 23:00, church of Nuestra Señora la Blanca: Miserere.
  • 00:00: the peñas continue the party.

Friday 4 September: principal day

  • 11:00, Recinto Ferial: inflatables.
  • 12:30, church of Nuestra Señora la Blanca: main Mass and floral offering.
  • 13:30, premises in Plaza Mayor: Town Council vermouth with saxophonist Ismael Dorado.
  • 19:30: auction of the four carrying-pole arms and ribbons, followed by the Santísimo Cristo procession with Banda de Almoguera.
  • 21:30: children's fancy-dress parade; adult competition at 23:30.
  • 00:00, Recinto Ferial: Orquesta Addición.

Saturday 5 September

  • 11:00: water inflatables.
  • 12:30: Mass for deceased brotherhood members; at 13:30, refreshments offered by the senior brother.
  • 19:00: children's mock bull event.
  • 20:30: Gran Prix for ages 16 and over.
  • 00:00: Orquesta Cougar; Asociación de Mujeres bingo during the interval at 02:00.

Sunday 6 September

  • 12:00, Plaza Mayor: inflatables and traditional games -olive-stone throwing, frog game, bottle-top circuit and egg throwing-; also at noon, Manos Unidas' PequeCongo in aid of Hogar Esciel in Kenya.
  • 14:30: community beef stew lunch with a drink.
  • 16:00: coffee prepared by Asociación de Jubilados y Pensionistas and a drag queen show.
  • 18:30, Plaza Mayor: first Quer Soapbox Race.
  • 21:00: community barbecue dinner.
  • 22:00: closing fireworks, subject to the wildfire risk.

Community meals

The dinner on 3 September, lunch on 6 September and closing barbecue cost EUR6 each; a ticket covering all three costs EUR12. Tickets are sold at the Town Hall until 1 September, with card payment.
