Our Lady of Cepones and San Roque Patronal Festivities in La Losa
La Losa, in Segovia province, brings residents, peñas and visitors together around its two patron saints. Worship of San Roque and Our Lady of Cepones shares the programme with music, communal meals, games and events arranged by the council and local groups.
Usual date
The main days fall in early September, with preliminary activities beginning in late August. San Roque has a day of his own, while the Mass and procession for Our Lady of Cepones take place on 8 September.

Where it is held
Plaza de Los Pobos is the principal setting for gatherings and entertainment. Religious observances are held at the church of San Juan Evangelista, while Plaza de Los Huertos, the frontón court, Centro Cultural, bullring, streets and peña premises complete the festival map.
Events and traditions
- Masses, processions and dulzaina-and-drum street music in honour of San Roque and Our Lady of Cepones.
- A triduum for the Virgen de Cepones and a floral offering in the parish church.
- The opening address and presentation of the year's quintos, the opening of the peñas and charanga music.
- Caldereta stew, paella, grilled sardines, the popular vermouth gathering and other shared meals.
- Giants and big-head figures, fancy dress, children's games, live music and activities run by the peñas.
Organisation and participation
La Losa Town Council coordinates the programme with the quintos, peñas, pensioners' association, Ronda Losana and other local groups. Events for children, young people, older residents and families turn the square and streets into a meeting place across generations.
