Where it takes place
The celebration extends across central Tejeda and the municipality's neighbourhoods and outlying settlements. The church, Plaza del Socorro, Plaza de La Vaguada, the La Vaguada multi-purpose hall, the municipal park, Cueva Carnera, Centro de Plantas Medicinales and El Motor are among its principal settings.
Devotion and religious events
A solemn Eucharist and a procession through the streets form the heart of the principal day. The programme also includes a travelling novena serving the municipality's neighbourhoods, an opening Eucharist and the ofrenda-romería, whose donated produce is distributed to people in need with Cáritas Diocesana de Canarias.
Pastoral culture and highland identity
Livestock farming has a visible role in the festival as a way of life tied to the landscape of Gran Canaria's mid-altitude and highland areas. Shepherds accompany the image during the ofrenda-romería and were chosen to deliver the 2026 opening address.
