Olite-Erriberri Patron Saint Festival 2026 programme

The festival runs from 13 to 19 September 2026. The municipal schedule combines religious observances, music, giants and big-heads, communal meals, children's activities and bull events.

Notice: check the municipal announcement before travelling. The fireworks on the 14th depend on the weather and any instructions issued by the Government of Navarre because of fire risk or strong winds.

Sunday 13 September, eve of the festival

  • 12:00: opening rocket and bell ringing, accompanied by the Municipal Band, Giants and Big-Heads and Gaiteros Merindad; first round with Txaranga Zidakos afterwards.
  • 17:30: traditional Riau-Riau.
  • 19:00: solemn vespers.
  • 19:45: unloading and first street bull run with Finca El Abuelo livestock; Giants and Big-Heads.
  • 21:00: pipe music in Plaza Carlos III.
  • 21:30: children's fire bull.
  • 22:00: children's cinema, Lilo & Stitch.
  • 00:00: dance with Kin-C Music.
  • 01:00: bingo for the Giants and Big-Heads group.
  • 01:15: special fire bull.
  • 03:00: final round with Txaranga Zidakos.

Monday 14 September, Day of Men and the Merindad

  • 07:00: men's morning reveille with the Municipal Band.
  • 09:00: becerrada with Bretos livestock.
  • 10:00: hot chocolate and churros.
  • 11:30: reception of officials at the Town Hall and procession to Santa María la Real with the Municipal Band, Giants and Big-Heads, pipers, txistularis and Txibiri.
  • 12:00: solemn Mass at Santa María la Real, sung by Coral Olitense.
  • 13:30: performances by the Municipal Band, Giants and Big-Heads, pipers, txistularis and Txibiri.
  • 14:45: Town Council communal meal in Plaza Carlos III, catered by Alhama.
  • 16:00: afternoon concert with Welcome Band.
  • 17:00: inflatables in the Placeta and Plisti-Plasta eco-games; at the school sports hall if it rains.
  • 17:15: procession down to the bullring with Txaranga Berriak.
  • 17:30: Arriazu show with cows, capons and bulls.
  • 19:00: return with Txaranga Berriak.
  • 19:30: street bull run with Adrián Domínguez livestock.
  • 21:00: pipe music.
  • 21:30: children's fire bull.
  • 22:00: fireworks by Pirotecnia Vulcano.
  • 22:30: children's cinema, Violeta, el hada traviesa.
  • 00:00: dance with Welcome Band.
  • 01:00: bingo for the Municipal Band.
  • 01:15: special fire bull along Placeta, San Francisco and Judería; the dance continues until 03:30.
  • 03:30: final round with Txaranga Berriak.

Tuesday 15 September, Women's Day

  • 07:00: women's morning reveille with the Municipal Band.
  • 09:00: becerrada with Bretos livestock.
  • 10:00: communal breakfast.
  • 12:00: Giants and Big-Heads around the old town.
  • 13:00: street music with Txaranga Incansables.
  • 14:45: communal paella.
  • 16:00: afternoon concert with Mare-M.
  • 17:00: inflatables and Plisti-Plasta in the Placeta; at the sports hall if it rains.
  • 17:15: procession down to the bullring.
  • 17:30: Grupo de Arte show with Fustiñana Taurina livestock.
  • 19:00: return with Txaranga Incansables.
  • 19:30: street bull run with Juan José Laparte livestock.
  • 21:00: pipe music.
  • 21:30: children's fire bull.
  • 22:00: children's cinema, Padre no hay más que uno 4.
  • 00:00: dance with Strenos.
  • 01:00: bingo for Txibiri Dantza Taldea.

Wednesday 16 September, Older People's Day

  • 12:00: Giants and Big-Heads around the old town.
  • 12:00: aizkolari display in Plaza Carlos III with Iker Vicente.
  • 13:00: street music with Txaranga El Encierro.
  • 13:00: aperitif and presentation of neckerchiefs to older residents at the senior citizens' premises in the Civic Centre.
  • 14:45: communal meal.
  • 16:00: afternoon concert with Nueva Etapa.
  • 17:00: inflatables and Plisti-Plasta; at the school sports hall if it rains.
  • 17:15: procession down to the bullring.
  • 17:30: recortadores competition with Eulogio Mateo livestock.
  • 19:00: return with Txaranga El Encierro.
  • 19:30: street run with six bulls and two oxen from Ustarroz.
  • 21:00: pipe music.
  • 21:30: children's fire bull.
  • 22:00: children's cinema, Sketch, cuidado con lo que dibujas.
  • 00:00: dance with Nueva Etapa until 03:30.
  • 01:00: bingo for the Olite-Erriberri jota school.

Thursday 17 September, Youth Day

  • 11:00: children's transhumance run along Calle Mayor and half of Plaza Carlos III, with Kira Zapatería livestock.
  • 12:00: Giants and Big-Heads around the old town.
  • 13:00: street music with Txaranga Incansables.
  • 14:45: youth communal meal.
  • 16:00: afternoon concert with Vuelo Vintage.
  • 17:00: inflatables and Tramakulu.
  • 17:15: procession down to the bullring.
  • 17:30: team Gran Prix with Hermanos Ganuza livestock.
  • 19:00: return with Txaranga Incansables.
  • 19:30: street bull run with Hermanos Ganuza livestock.
  • 21:00: pipe music.
  • 21:30: children's fire bull.
  • 22:00: children's cinema, Los tipos malos 2.
  • 00:00: dance with Txapela Brava.
  • 01:00: bingo for local youth.
  • 01:15: special fire bull along Placeta, San Francisco and Judería; DJ Goros closes the day.

Friday 18 September, Erri-Berri and Music Day

  • 14:45: communal meal arranged by Club Deportivo Erri-Berri.
  • 16:00: afternoon concert with Orquesta En Esenzia.
  • 17:00: inflatables and Tramakulu.
  • 17:15: procession down to the bullring.
  • 17:30: Club Erri-Berri show with Finca El Abuelo livestock.
  • 19:00: return with Txaranga Forris'tar.
  • 19:30: street bull run with Eulogio Mateo livestock.

  • 17:15: procession down to the bullring with Malatxo.
  • 17:30: ring competition with José Antonio Ustarroz livestock.
  • 19:00: return from the bullring.
  • 19:30: street bull run with Pedro Jesús Domínguez livestock.
  • 21:00: pipe music.
  • 21:30: children's fire bull.
  • 22:00: children's cinema, Bambi, una vida en el bosque.

Tickets for Town Council meals in Plaza Carlos III are sold at Casa de Cultura from 31 August to 4 September, card payments only. Tickets and season passes for municipal bull events are sold there from 7 to 11 September, also by card only.
