Brunete Most Holy Christ of Patronage Festival 2026 programme

The principal programme runs from 7 to 14 September 2026, with preliminary events and sports before and afterwards. Monday 14 is the main day.

Notice: the programme may change. Access controls operate, glass and pyrotechnics are prohibited, and traffic will be affected around event venues.

Pre-festival and sports events, 31 August-8 September

  • 31 August-3 September, 20:00: mus tournament, Bar La Lata; 1-9 September, from 21:00: 30th indoor football championship, Polideportivo José Ramón de la Morena.
  • 3 September, 09:30-13:30: badminton tournament for all categories; 4 September, from 12:00: poker tournament, Bar La Lata.
  • 4 September, 18:00: free Dojoquino women's self-defence workshop, martial arts room; 20:00: children's show, Plaza Mayor; 22:00: Déjà Vu tribute show, Plaza Mayor.
  • 5 September: municipal gym open day, 09:00-14:00; wheels circuit and skating games, Parque Luis Martín Granizo, 10:00-13:00; inclusive table-tennis open and 3x3 grassroots football championship, sports centre; first peña gymkhana, sports centre; local chito throwing competition, Parque Profesor Martín Rollín; 21:30: Ropa Vieja with Álvaro Montes, Plaza Mayor.
  • 6 September: third swimming championship, municipal pool, 10:00-12:00; 3x3 basketball tournament, covered pavilion, 10:00-14:00; 27th festival football tournament, Estadio Los Arcos; 20:00-21:30: staged sports exhibitions, Plaza Mayor; 20:00: lowering of the Christ and presentation of standards; 22:30: Crazy Fuck, Plaza Mayor.
  • 7 September, 18:30: hot chocolate for older residents, Centro de Mayores; 8 September, 17:30: children's inflatables, pedestrian section of Calle Real de San Sebastián; 21:30: Rocío Lucero, Plaza Mayor.
  • During the pre-festival period, 19:00-20:00: special fairground opening time.

Thursday 10 September

  • 20:00: triduum, “Christ who comes to meet us”, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción parish church.
  • 21:00: presentation of peñas with brass band, Plaza Mayor.
  • 21:30: opening address by Rafael Louzán, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Plaza Mayor.
  • 00:00: fireworks and brass band, Parque San Juan.
  • 00:30: Grupo Metropop, Plaza Mayor; 02:30: DJ Metropop, Plaza Mayor.

Friday 11 September

  • 13:00: charity fried eggs, municipal bandstand.
  • 18:00: bull run and release with brass band, bullring.
  • 23:00: Orquesta Vulkano, Plaza Mayor.
  • 02:30: Back DJ, Salón de Plenos.
  • 23:30-04:00: One More Event DJ, municipal bandstand.
  • Musical bingo in Plaza Mayor, organised by La Créme, Los Búhos and other peñas.

Saturday 12 September

  • 11:00: bull run and release, bullring.
  • 13:00: children's bull run.
  • 14:30: afternoon session with Chaito and Palo Santo, Plaza Mayor.
  • 18:00: recortadores exhibition, bullring.
  • 20:00: triduum, “Christ who remains with his people”, parish church.
  • 23:00: Orquesta La Mundial, Plaza Mayor; 02:30: DJ.
  • 23:30-04:00: One More Event DJ, municipal bandstand.

Sunday 13 September

  • 11:00: bull run and release with brass band, bullring.
  • 13:00: Autoslocos, Calle Asunción.
  • 14:30: 80 RedNeck afternoon session, Plaza Mayor.
  • 18:30: horse show El arte de Andalucía, bullring.
  • 20:00: triduum, “Christ, hope that does not disappoint”, parish church; and guateque, Plaza Mayor.
  • 22:30: Orquesta Panorama, opposite Colegio Ágora.

Monday 14 September, Day of the Christ

  • 12:00: solemn Mass in honour of the Santísimo Cristo del Patrocinio and brotherhood wine, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción church.
  • 19:00: tribute, floral offering, Estampas del Pasado and the dances Jota Juliana, Rondón de Úrsula, Jota de Brunete and Seguidillas de Brunete; procession through the streets with the municipal band and kissing of the feet afterwards.
  • 22:00: Cuatro Tenores, Plaza Mayor.
  • 00:00: closing firecrackers, Plaza Mayor.

Later events and sport

  • 15 September, 20:00: funeral for deceased members of the brotherhood and solemn raising of the Christ.
  • 12, 13 and 19 September: 26th La Espiga football, seven-a-side and debutantes tournament, Estadio Los Arcos.
  • 27 September, 10:00: sixth We Run Brunete, 28th road race; children's races at 11:00.
  • 27 September, 20:00: municipal band concert, bandstand.
