Galapagar Most Holy Christ of Mercy Festivities 2026 programme

The main festivities run from Thursday 10 to Monday 14 September 2026. The patron is honoured with solemn Mass and a procession on the 14th; the programme also includes preliminary and follow-on activities.

Notice: the programme may change. Follow all safety instructions at bull runs and taurine events. The fairground has quiet inclusive hours from 19:00 to 21:00.

Preliminary activities: 17 August to 4 September

17-19 August, 19:00: first Rummi tournament, Centro del Mayor; €2, registration until 30 minutes before.
20-22 August, 20:30: adult Parcheesi tournament, Centro del Mayor; €5 per person.
21 August-6 September: Élite Tenis Galapagar federation tournament, municipal sports centre; weekdays 16:00-22:00 and weekends 09:00-21:00.
24-28 August, 20:30: Chinchón championship in Plaza de la Constitución and Tute championship at 17:00 in the Centro del Mayor bar.
31 August-4 September, 20:30: Mus championship, Plaza de la Constitución.
1 September, 18:00: cornhole tournament, municipal sports centre.
1-6 September: social tennis tournament, municipal sports centre; weekdays 16:00-22:00 and weekend 09:00-22:00.
3-6 September: padel tournament, municipal sports centre; 3-4 September 17:00-22:00, 5 September 10:00-14:00 and 17:00-22:00, 6 September 10:00-14:00.
3-24 September: «Música popular: una visión fotográfica» exhibition, Centro Cultural La Pocilla, during opening hours.
3 September, 09:00-15:00: inter-town pétanque championship, pétanque and chito courts and Parque El Toril surroundings; 12:00, chito contest; 18:00, children's chito contest.

Saturday 5 September

07:30-13:30: XXII Memorial Pepe Gómez cycling schools trophy, Avenida de los Voluntarios and Calle Montecillo.
09:00-15:00: individual pétanque championship, Parque El Toril; 09:00-16:00, archery tournament, El Barrizal field.
20:00-01:00: Los 40 Urban Party and performances by JØL and TATE, Plaza de la Constitución.

Sunday 6 September

10:00: regional pairs chito contest, Parque El Toril; 10:00-11:30, IV GP Sergio Martín, from Calle Inclusión beside Tasio Greciano velodrome.
10:00-13:00: social table tennis tournament, municipal sports centre; 11:30-13:30, Bicycle Festival from Calle Inclusión.
12:30: thanksgiving Mass for the Older Residents' Festival; bus from the Town Hall at about 14:00, meal at 14:30 and music at 15:30 at Restaurante Trinidad.

Thursday 10 September

18:30-20:30: Holi colour-powder festival, El Chopo football-ground car park.
Afternoon and evening: fairground opens, Calle Guadarrama.
20:30: peña parade with brass band from El Chopo car park to Plaza de la Constitución.
21:00: opening address by Camino Martínez, Plaza de la Constitución.
22:00: DJ Fernando Moreno, Plaza de la Constitución.
22:30: Orquesta Panorama, fairground plot on Calle Guadarrama beside the BP station.

Friday 11 September

17:30: bullfighting-school practical class, bullring; 18:00, «Cuentos con caparazón» storytelling, Biblioteca Ricardo León.

11:00: solemn Mass at Nuestra Señora de la Asunción followed by a procession via Plaza de la Iglesia, Caño, Plaza del Caño, Procesiones, Soberanía, Plaza Victorino Martín, Avenida de los Voluntarios, Plaza de la Constitución and back to the church.
About 14:30: community meal with brass band, Plaza de la Constitución.
18:00: Camino hacia Las Ventas circuit novillada, bullring.
Afternoon and evening: Children's Day with 50% off rides, Calle Guadarrama.
21:00: Orquesta Diamante, Plaza de la Constitución; 23:59: fireworks, CP Jacinto Benavente-Cemetery car park.
