Calasparra Fair and Festivities 2026 programme

The official programme runs from Saturday 22 August to Tuesday 8 September 2026. It covers the preliminary events, the September Fair and Festivities, the Feria Taurina del Arroz and the Virgen de la Esperanza Pilgrimage.

Saturday 22 August 2026

  • 21:30, main square at the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza: opening speech by Antonio Sánchez Moreno, followed by a concert by the Asociación Banda de Música de Calasparra.

Sunday 23 and Monday 24 August 2026

  • Sunday, 21:30, Auditorio Cine Rosales: outdoor screening of Minions & Monsters.
  • Monday, from 20:00, Club Taurino headquarters, Calle Socovos, 5: collection of 200 free tickets for young people, subject to advance registration.
  • Monday, 21:30, Auditorio Cine Rosales: outdoor screening of Minions & Monsters.

Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August 2026

  • Tuesday, from 20:30, Club Taurino headquarters: launch of the Huellas Taurinas trail through the town; it ends at about 22:30 at the bull-run pens, followed by cuerva.
  • Tuesday, 21:30, Auditorio Cine Rosales: outdoor screening of Minions & Monsters.
  • Wednesday, 10:00–14:00, Casa de la Juventud: children's bullfighting workshops, with cape and T-shirt activities requiring advance registration.
  • Wednesday, 21:30, Auditorio Cine Rosales: outdoor screening of El final de Oak Street.

Thursday 27 and Friday 28 August 2026

  • Thursday, 20:30, Museo de la Villa: launch of issue XVII of the cultural and bullfighting magazine La Fiesta and opening of Marta Piña Fernández's exhibition La esencia del toreo.
  • Thursday, 21:30, Auditorio Cine Rosales: outdoor screening of El final de Oak Street.
  • Friday, 21:00, municipal bullring: El arte de Andalucía flamenco equestrian show with Carmelo Cuevas, Yeguada Román Merino and Salvador Navarro “Chopi”.

  • 08:00, Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza: arrival of the 13th walking pilgrimage from Hellín; Mass at 08:45.
  • 10:30, Club Taurino headquarters: open day.
  • 19:30, usual route: Gran Pasacalles Fantasía with floats, characters and music.
  • 23:00, Campo Municipal La Caverina: ninth Calasparra Summer Fest with José Nogales, Kiddo, Juseph, Javi Torres, DJ Maggie and Esee DJ.
  • 23:30, Calle Mayor stage: Peña El Tumbao's 35th-anniversary concert with Albarro, in aid of Mucho a mucho.

Sunday 30 August 2026

  • 08:30, Pantano del Argos: special Fair and Festivities fishing competition.
  • 08:30, El Pozuelo: departure of the cross-country bull run with cattle from Juan Fran; arrival at the bullring at 11:00.
  • 09:00, Plaza Emilio Pérez Piñero: fourth Villa de Calasparra charity motorbike breakfast; live music by Sr. Lobo from 10:00.
  • 13:00, sanctuary chapel: Mass and floral offering by the town and bullfighting associations, sung by Coro Rociero, followed by the opening of the Virgin's chamber.
  • 17:30, Plaza de la Constitución, Calle Mayor, Lavador, Ordóñez and the bullring: bull run with the cattle for the recortadores competition.
  • 20:30, bullring: Villa de Calasparra recortadores competition.

  • 19:30, Casa de la Cultura: Homenaje al Toro and Por Amor al Arte exhibitions, bullfighting leaflet launch, talk with Vicente Ruiz “El Soro” and caldera tasting.

  • 18:45, bullring: Feria Taurina del Arroz novillada with Alberto Donaire, Julio Romero and Daniel Moset, and cattle from María Gascón.

Monday 7 September 2026: pilgrimage

  • 10:00, route to the bullring: fifth bull run, with cattle from Rehuelga.
  • 12:30, Casa de la Cultura: Aperitivos Taurinos with Rafael Buendía Ramírez de Arellano.
  • 16:30, Carpa Festera: Malena.
  • 18:45, bullring: novillada with Emiliano Osornio, El Mene and Álvaro Serrano, and cattle from Rehuelga.
  • 19:00, Fuente del Secano: buses depart for the pilgrimage, returning after Mass and after the concert.
  • 20:00, sanctuary arches: pilgrimage Mass and traditional torchlight rosary to the chapel.
  • 23:00, sanctuary main square: 20th Un río de músicas, with Trivox Style's tribute to Il Divo.

Tuesday 8 September 2026

  • 10:00, route to the bullring: sixth bull run, with cattle from Miura and Fuente Ymbro.
  • 12:30, sanctuary chapel: solemn concelebrated Mass in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza.
  • 12:30, Casa de la Cultura: Feria Taurina del Arroz review, tributes and the national best matador award for Borja Jiménez.
  • 13:00, Town Hall assembly room: Germán Galindo grants and financial awards.
  • 18:45, bullring: novillada with Jesús Romero, Raquel Martín and Jorge Hurtado, and cattle from Miura and Fuente Ymbro.
  • After the novillada, Casa de la Cultura: final talk and the 35th Feria Taurina del Arroz jury decision.
  • 23:00, Plaza de la Corredera: Asociación Banda de Música de Calasparra concert.
