Santíssim Crist del Miracle Festivities in L'Atzúbia

At the end of summer, L'Atzúbia holds its festivities in honour of the Santíssim Crist del Miracle. Worship, music, street parades, Valencian pilota and neighbourhood gatherings come together in the village's squares and streets.

Celebration date

The festivities take place in the first days of September, usually around the month's first weekend. The day devoted to the Santíssim Crist del Miracle closes the celebrations and forms their centrepiece; the Mare de Déu del Rosari also has a day of her own.

Where it is held

Events are spread across the centre of L'Atzúbia. The square hosts meals, evening dances and community activities; Plaça de l'Església is a departure point for street parades, while Carrer Font, Carrer Nou and the Raval area accommodate sporting and children's activities.

Religious events

The festival retains a strong patronal character. The despertà and Aurora open the religious days, followed by street parades, solemn Masses and the joint procession of the Santíssim Crist del Miracle and the Mare de Déu del Rosari. Their respective confraternities organise the days dedicated to each image.

Traditions and festive atmosphere

  • Street parades accompanied by the Agrupació Musical de Pego.
  • Valencian pilota matches and workshops.
  • Paellas, communal dinners and gatherings in the square.
  • A fancy-dress parade, water games, orchestras and late-night performances.

Taking part

The confraternities, the council, musicians, associations and residents sustain an intergenerational celebration. Some meals and activities require advance tickets or registration, so visitors should check the council programme for each edition.
