Santísimo Cristo de la Caridad Festivities in Collado Mediano

Collado Mediano's patronal festivities in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Caridad bring together religious observances, peña gatherings, music, children's activities and bullfighting events. The Town Council, Festival Committee, associations and other partners prepare a programme for residents and visitors alike.

Usual date

The celebration usually occupies the last week of August and lasts for six days. Dates and the order of events may change from one edition to another.

Where it takes place

Events are held in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the parish church, Parque Municipal de La Fuente, Calle Audiencia, Avenida de Buenos Aires, the bullring and other venues across Collado Mediano. The annual programme confirms the setting for each activity.

Patronal events

The procession and Mass express the religious dimension of the festival. The civic opening brings together the selection of the festival Queen, King and Maids of Honour, the opening speech and the opening firework. The farewell includes a Mass in memory of residents who have died.

Peñas and community gatherings

The peñas take part from the opening fellowship dinner and enliven the aperitifs and afternoon DJ sessions. The communal rice meal, prize-giving and closing fellowship dinner sustain the festival's community character.
