Utrera Consolacion Fair and Festivities

Utrera's major September fair centres on devotion to Nuestra Señora de Consolación Coronada, combining pilgrimages, worship, casetas, music and shared life on the fairground.

Celebration date

The fair usually occupies the first week of September and culminates on 8 September, the feast of Nuestra Señora de Consolación. The ceremonial lighting opens the main days, while the patron's day brings the pilgrimage, procession and solemn service.

Where it takes place

The fairground and its gateway contain the casetas, rides and promenades. The Caseta Municipal stands in Plaza del Flamenco, while the Santuario de Consolación and Real de Consolación form the devotional centre. Plaza del Altozano and other city venues host pre-fair activities.

Virgen de Consolación and the fair

Virgen de Consolación is Utrera's patron and the central reason for the celebration. Through the night of 7-8 September, pilgrims arrive from Utrera and other towns across the countryside. At dawn, the image crosses the Real de Consolación as the rosary is prayed.

Organisation and participation

Utrera Town Council coordinates the civic programme with caseta members, fairground operators, associations, artists, clubs and safety services. The Pontificia, Real e Ilustre Hermandad de Nuestra Señora de Consolación Coronada organises the principal religious events.
