Pecados y Danzantes of Camuñas 2026 programme
Corpus Christi in Camuñas is celebrated principally from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 June 2026. The municipal programme combines the Pecados y Danzantes ritual with religious events, concerts, children's activities, exhibitions and sport.
Notice: the Town Council reserves the right to change times and venues if weather conditions are unfavourable. Check the official information before attending.
Pre-festival activities
- 16 May-14 June: “Elementos” exhibition by Inma Fernández-M. Yugo, Pecados y Danzantes Interpretation Centre.
- Saturday 23 May, from 10:00: “Corpus Christi” youth football schools meeting, Campo Municipal football ground.
- Saturday 23 May, 11:00-14:00: round table, “Intangible heritage: a tool for the visibility and safeguarding of the festival”, Interpretation Centre.
- 23 May-21 June: “Alas y Viento”, an exhibition of mask photographs by Nacho Rovira, Interpretation Centre.
- Saturday 30 May, from 19:00: Boxing Day, Rufino Galán municipal sports hall.
- Sunday 31 May, 08:30: draw and, at 09:00, start of the Corpus Christi pétanque tournament, Campo Municipal football ground.
Wednesday 3 June 2026
- 19:00: Eucharist with the Hermandad del Santísimo Sacramento - Pecados y Danzantes, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción parish church; afterwards, floral offering to the Blessed Sacrament and the traditional Puñao del Cura at the parish centre.
- 23:30: Bandelbirra covers concert, Plaza Vieja - Huerto de la Viuda fairground; followed by a mobile disco.
Thursday 4 June 2026, Corpus Christi
- 10:00: solemn Mass in the parish church. The Pecados y Danzantes perform their Carreras and the Danza de Tejer el Cordón before the Blessed Sacrament in Plaza Ramón y Cajal; afterwards, procession through Camuñas. The Blessed Sacrament remains exposed until vísperas.
- 19:30: vísperas, blessing and reservation of the Blessed Sacrament in the parish church, with the Pecados y Danzantes; afterwards, the traditional Puñao del Ayuntamiento in the courtyard of the Interpretation Centre.
- 00:00: X-Pam Show, Plaza Vieja - Huerto de la Viuda fairground; followed by a mobile disco.
Friday 5 June 2026
- 09:30-13:00: procession of Pecados with Santo Paparro through the streets, with characters including Pecaílla, Suplente-Correa, Novicios, Ramaleros, Cubos, Picas and Jueces; Día de los Tiznaos or Día de la Horca.
- 13:30: traditional Horca de los Novicios and summary trial, Molino La Unión; a glass of zurra is offered to attendees aged over 18.
- 21:00: Mass for deceased members of the Hermandad del Santísimo Sacramento - Pecados y Danzantes, parish church.
- 23:00: traditional Baile de los Novicios, Danzantes headquarters of Luis Palomo and Encarna Martínez, Calle Los Membrillos.
Saturday 6 June 2026
- 10:30: communal ajo pastoril meal, Plaza Vieja - Huerto de la Viuda fairground. The programme asks the public to bring a plate and cutlery.
- 11:00-14:00: children's superpark, Rufino Galán sports hall, Calle Las Viñas.
- 19:30: literary competition, children's poster competition and Corpus 2027 poster awards, auditorium of the Pecados y Danzantes Interpretation Centre.
- 23:00: “La edad de oro del pop español” themed festival with Pablo Perea, Nika, Naim Thomas and Javián, Plaza Vieja - Huerto de la Viuda fairground; followed by a mobile disco.
Sunday 7 June 2026, the Octave
- 10:00: solemn Mass in the parish church. The Pecados y Danzantes perform the Carreras and Danza de Tejer el Cordón in Plaza Ramón y Cajal; afterwards, procession through the streets. The programme announces that “Ancha es Castilla-La Mancha” will broadcast the route.
Later activity
- Saturday 13 June, 09:00: local Corpus cycle ride, leaving from Plaza Vieja and following tracks and countryside near Camuñas.
