Hita Medieval Festival 2026 programme

The 64th edition was held from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 July 2026 across Hita's historic quarter. This schedule summarises the definitive programme published by the Town Council, including dates, times and venues.

Friday 3 July

  • 20:00: opening of Mujer y comunidad, ser mujer al final de la Edad Media, Casa-Museo del Arcipreste, Calle San Pedro.
  • 20:30: market opening with Crispín d'Olot, Calle Puerta de Caballos.
  • 21:00: traditional food in restaurants, Calle Muralla, Plaza Doña Endrina and the Casa-Museo courtyard.
  • 21:30: Veneranda Dies Ensemble's Los Trovadores del Rey, with Manuel Galiana, in the ruins of San Pedro.
  • 23:30: La noche de la Trotaconventos fire show, Plaza del Arcipreste.

Saturday 4 July: morning

  • 11:00-17:00 and 19:30-23:00: free visit to the cellar on Puerta de Caballos; 12:00-14:00 and 16:00-18:00, hillside cellars in upper San Miguel; 12:00-14:00, San Juan Bautista church.
  • 11:00: market opens on Puerta de Caballos and Calle Muralla.
  • 11:45: La Recua summons visitors to the opening proclamation, Plaza del Arcipreste.
  • 12:00: La boda de Don Melón y Doña Endrina, Plaza del Arcipreste, with Hita residents, Crispín d'Olot, Grupo Complutense de Danza Española, Xalamut and La Juglaresca.
  • 12:45-14:00: entertainment by Ixera, La Recua, Turdión and Xalamut in Plaza del Arcipreste, the market and Calle Muralla.
  • 15:00-17:00: food and rest in the town's restaurants and taverns.

Saturday 4 July: afternoon and night

  • 17:00-19:30: micro-theatre with Crispín d'Olot in the Puerta de Caballos cellar.
  • 17:15-17:45: Xalamut, La Recua, La Juglaresca, Kalaberas and Turdión in Plaza del Arcipreste, Puerta de Santa María, the market and Calle Muralla.
  • 19:00: alarde from Casa-Museo to the Palenque, with knights, maidens, botargas, confraternities and musicians.
  • 19:30: contest between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, followed by the medieval tournament in the Palenque.
  • 20:30-21:00: entertainment at Puerta de Caballos, Mirador del Arcipreste, the market and Calle Muralla; at 21:00, Grimorium in Plaza del Arcipreste.
  • 22:00: El Lazarillo de Tormes, directed and performed by Rafael Álvarez “El Brujo”, in the ruins of San Pedro; at the same time, Danza de la Muerte in Plaza del Arcipreste.
  • 23:15: Ixera in the Palenque.
  • 23:59: medieval combat and Ignis Aeternum night show, Palenque.
  • 01:00: Ixera fire show in Plaza del Arcipreste; 01:30: market closes.

Sunday 5 July

  • 11:00: craft stalls open on Puerta de Caballos.
  • 11:30: Kalaberas pipers in Plaza del Arcipreste and the market.
  • 12:00: combat show and workshop by Indomitus, Plaza del Arcipreste.
  • 12:30: closing of the II Encuentro Medieval, Casa-Museo del Arcipreste.
  • 13:00: Crispín d'Olot and Cuentos de las 1001 noches, Plaza del Arcipreste.
  • 13:30: Lotus Project dance display; 14:30: farewell with Kalaberas, Plaza del Arcipreste.
