Holy Christ of Good Counsel Festival 2026 programme

Becerril de la Sierra holds its patron saint festival from 11 to 16 September 2026. The main day is 14 September, with Mass and a procession for Santo Cristo del Buen Consejo.

Friday 11 September

  • 23:00: the Festival Committee and Peña No Temblamos set out to gather the other peñas and continue to the authorised site.
  • 23:45: opening address by local resident Fabián Venero, 2025 European and World Skyrunning Champion.
  • 00:00: opening rocket and official inauguration.
  • 00:30: Orquesta Jamaica Show in Plaza de la Constitución.

Saturday 12 September

  • 10:30: musical morning round with La Dominga brass band.
  • 11:00: street run with the livestock for the afternoon event.
  • After the run: children's wheeled-bull run by Peña Agutirrini from the release pens, with the second tribute to Blas Hidalgo.
  • 13:00: aperitif with a DJ in Plaza de la Constitución.
  • 17:00: break and preparation of the bullring.
  • 18:00: picador novillada with four Valdellán bulls for Javier Cuartero and Jairo López.
  • 23:00: Orquesta Marsella in Plaza de la Constitución.

Sunday 13 September

  • 10:30: musical morning round with La Dominga.
  • 11:00: street run with the afternoon's livestock; brass-band aperitif afterwards.
  • After the run: ninth soapbox race in Calle Peña Lisa.
  • 13:00: aperitif with a DJ in Plaza de la Constitución.
  • 17:00: break and preparation of the bullring.
  • 18:00: picador novillada with Pedrés bulls for Félix San Román and Andrés García.
  • 23:00: Orquesta Malassia in Plaza de la Constitución.

Monday 14 September

  • 12:00: Mass and procession for Santo Cristo del Buen Consejo in San Andrés church.
  • 12:00-15:00: inflatables in Plaza de la Constitución.
  • 14:00: members' communal lunch and lemonade from the Senior Citizens' Association, with a local DJ, in Plaza de la Constitución.
  • 17:00: break and preparation of the bullring.
  • 17:30: children's ox run from the release pens to the bullring along the traditional route.
  • 18:30: fancy-dress competition at the bullring, with prizes for the best three.
  • 23:00: Orquesta Pikante in Plaza de la Constitución.

Tuesday 15 September, Women's Day

  • 10:30: hot chocolate and churros for female members.
  • 11:00: musical morning round with La Dominga.
  • 11:30: street run with the afternoon's livestock, followed by release of cows.
  • 13:00: aperitif with DJ and brass band in Plaza de la Constitución.
  • 17:00: break and preparation of the bullring.
  • 18:00: non-picador novillada with Victoriano del Río bulls for César de Juste and Daniel García; release of cows afterwards.
  • 22:00: Women's Dinner and members' prize draw.
  • 23:30: Macrodiscoteca Alefran.

Wednesday 16 September, Men's Day

  • 10:00: Mass for the deceased.
  • 12:00-13:00 and 16:00-18:00: members collect meat; the season ticket must be shown.
  • 17:00: local clay-pigeon shoot by the Hunters' Society, at the same site as the previous year.
  • 18:00: bingo.
  • 22:00: Men's Dinner.
  • 23:00: auction of meat from the bull events.
  • 00:00: closing fireworks in Calle Cáceres, weather permitting; hot chocolate and churros afterwards in Plaza de la Constitución.

Bull-event tickets and safety

The full season ticket costs €30 (€25 reduced). It includes a hat and wristband, the Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday novilladas, Monday lunch, the members' dinner and a bag of meat. At the box office, Saturday and Sunday's picador novilladas cost €15 (€10 reduced), and Tuesday's non-picador novillada costs €10 (€5 reduced). Admission is free for children under 12, and the street run is free.

The minimum age for taking part in popular bull events is 16. People may not participate under the influence of alcohol or drugs, while carrying objects that impede running or when physically unfit. Wear suitable clothing and footwear, do not call or cut across the animals, respect the herders and follow instructions from security staff and organisers.
