Virgen de la Encina and Caldereta Festivities 2026 programme

Hoyo de Manzanares holds its preliminary and patronal festivities from 28 August to 9 September 2026. The main programme starts on 4 September and culminates with Patroness Day on the 8th and closing events on the 9th.

28 August to 3 September 2026

  • 28 August: padel and tennis tournaments begin at Las Eras; Parchís de la Chelo, 11:30-14:00 and 16:30-18:30, Plaza Mayor; open-air dance from 23:30 with Calavera Mot and Los Porfolios, Plaza Mayor.
  • 29 August: football trophies at 12:00, 16:30 and 19:30 at Las Eras; basketball at 18:00 and 20:00; selection of Reinas y Damas at 18:30 in Teatro Las Cigüeñas; proclamation at 23:00 and 1980s night with Los Geiperman, Viceversa, Bernárdez and La Banda del Capitán Inhumano, Plaza Mayor.
  • 30 August: motorcycle gathering at 10:00 in Plaza Mayor; cattle drive at 11:00 from Navallera to the bullring; first Mass and novena at 12:00 in the parish church; country gathering at 12:30 in the bullring; Trivial de Hoyo from 18:00; older residents' dance at 20:30 in Plaza Mayor.
  • 31 August: transfer of the Virgin at 11:30 from the old church chapel; older residents' lunch at 14:00 at Finca Los Jarales; novena at 19:30 in the parish church.
  • 1 September: pool party, 12:00-15:00 and 18:00-21:00, municipal pool; novena at 19:30.
  • 2 September: novena at 19:30.
  • 3 September: novena at 19:30 and Municipal Band concert at 20:30 in Plaza Mayor.

Friday 4 September

  • 16:30: mus marathon, Plaza Mayor; 17:00: table football, Plaza del Caño; 18:30-21:00: Peña El Botijo marathon, Las Eras; 19:30: novena; 21:00-00:00: Red Cross Youth's ¿Sales hoy?
  • 23:30: clubs' parade from Parque de la Paloma; 23:55: proclamation by Asociación de Belenistas and Peña El Huevo, Plaza Mayor; 00:30: DJ El Pulpo and MetroPop, Plaza Mayor.

Saturday 5 September

  • 09:00: dawn parade; 10:30: bull run and release, bullring and streets; 12:00: children's bull run, bar route and chito final in Parque Alcántara; 13:00: paella, Plaza Mayor; 13:30: cucaña, Plaza de La Caldereta.
  • 15:00-17:00: charanga contest, Plaza Mayor; 17:00-20:00: Belenistas open day, Plaza Hontanilla 2; 18:30: novillada, bullring; 19:30: novena; 21:00-00:00: ¿Sales hoy?; 23:30: Orquesta Yelem Show, Plaza Mayor.

Sunday 6 September, Caldereta Day

  • 08:00: dawn parade and hot chocolate; 09:30: tribute to deceased La Caldereta members, Plaza Mayor; 10:30: bull run and release; 12:00: egg fry, children's cattle activity and novena Mass; 12:30: children's lemonade; 13:30: cucaña.
  • 15:00: charanga contest; 17:00: Caldereta preparation, Plaza del Caño; 18:30: bullfighting festival; 22:30: Caldereta supper, Plaza Mayor; followed by an open-air dance, sprinkling of wine and Orquesta Venecia.

Monday 7 September

  • 09:00: dawn parade; 10:30: bull run; 12:00: botijo breaking, Parque Alcántara; 13:30: vintage-car rally and cucaña; 18:00: charanga from Plaza Mayor; 18:30: heifer release; 19:30: novena closes; 23:00: Orquesta Jarana and Con Más Flow, Plaza Mayor.

Tuesday 8 September, Patroness Day

  • 09:00: dawn parade; 10:00: bull run; 12:00: solemn Mass and procession; 13:00: pancetada, Parque Alcántara; 13:30: cucaña; 21:00: transfer of the Virgin and floral offering at the old church chapel; 22:00: traditional broth, Plaza Mayor; 00:00: Baile del Farolillo with Orquesta Wanda, Plaza Mayor.

Wednesday 9 September

  • 11:00: XII HoyoChef, Plaza del Caño; 12:00: Mass in the Cofradía chapel, followed by music and lemonade; 13:30: cucaña, Plaza de La Caldereta; 20:00: Spanish Army barracks music unit concert, Plaza Mayor; 22:30: musical fireworks show with 140 drones, Las Eras.
