Local festivals in Tavernes de la Valldigna

The Festes Majors are usually celebrated over several days in September in honour of the Santíssim Crist de la Sang and the Divina Aurora. The Baixada carries the image of Christ from the Calvari into the town and the Pujada returns it to the shrine; this tradition has been documented since 1885. Processions, music and community events fill Plaça Major, the central streets and the Calvari area.

Music, fireworks and community life

Bands, choirs, street bands and open-air dances accompany fancy-dress competitions, decorated streets and the communal paella night. Families, local groups, associations, musical ensembles and the Town Council sustain a shared celebration that usually closes with fireworks.

Other events: porrats and Valencian traditions

During July and August, the porrats of Clot de la Font and Sant Llorenç bring stalls, music and community gatherings to their traditional settings. Fallas, Midsummer night, Holy Week and its processions complete a calendar in which dolçaina and tabalet music, albades singing and local participation retain a prominent role.
