Local festivals in Sedaví

The usual celebration of the Virgen del Rosario and San Torcuato popular and patronal festivities lasts about ten days in the second half of September. Plaça Jaume I, the festival site, Virgen del Rosario church and streets across the town host the proclamation, parade, bands' entrance, paella contest, exhibitions, sport, processions and fireworks. The Town Council, Festival Board, parish, clavarios, bands, Fallas committees, associations, clubs and residents organise and take part in the festivities.

Tradition, music and community

Entrà de la Murta usually precedes the procession, scattering aromatic leaves along the streets as dance groups, traditional musicians and local organisations pass. Bands accompany the routes and events honouring the patron saints, while suppers, games and competitions turn squares and streets into places for the community to gather.

Other events: San Roque, Fallas and all i pebre

San Roque is usually celebrated over several days in August in the old quarter, with shared tables, food, music and a closing Mass. From 15 to 19 March, Fallas committees organise street parades, despertàs, the flower offering and cremà. Around 9 October, the all i pebre contest brings groups of friends and cooks together for an afternoon and evening around an emblematic Valencian recipe.
