Usual celebration
The patronal calendar has two main cycles. Historic Sagunto honours Saints Abdon and Senen during the second half of July, while Puerto de Sagunto celebrates the Virgen del Carmen in mid-July and the Virgen de Begoña during the first half of August. Peñas, music, children's activities, communal meals and bull-running events are part of the traditional programme in squares, streets and festival venues. The City Council, peñas and associations from both towns participate.
Other cultural events
The summer cultural programme also includes performances at the Roman Theatre and activities linked to Sagunto's historic heritage and Puerto de Sagunto's industrial heritage.
