Local festivals in Nàquera/Náquera

The patronal festivities are usually celebrated over four days, from 1 to 4 October, after a month of preparatory events. A fancy-dress parade opens the celebration, while the streets, Plaça de l'Ajuntament and Plaça de l'Església host parades, music, traditional dancing, fireworks, communal meals and observances dedicated to Virgen del Rosario, Niño Jesús, Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación and San Francisco de Asís.

Niño Jesús and the patron saints

The Niño Jesús celebration gives a leading role to children who participate as clavarios and wear Valencian dress. The cycle culminates with the days of Encarnación and San Francisco de Asís; solemn mass for the patron saint is held outdoors in the church square with parish, festival-group and Town Council participation.

Other summer celebrations

During the summer, the cultural calendar includes the presentation of the Festival Queen and her court, concerts, bull-related events organised by peñas and celebrations in different residential districts. The Town Council, festival associations, peñas and residents therefore share activities between the old town and the municipality's residential areas.
