Local festivals in Onda
Fira d'Onda is the city's principal popular festival, bringing together its historic origins, the participation of the peñas and events honouring the Santísimo Salvador.
Usual celebration
The Fira grew from the annual fair granted in 1267 and became a patronal festival in the nineteenth century. For several days it fills the old town, fairground and Onda's streets with a procession, the collective hymn to the Santísimo Salvador, parades, floats, a mascletà, correfocs, concerts, food and bull-running events organised with the City Council and the peñas. The official 2026 site places the start of this edition on 16 October.
Local public holidays in 2026
The regional resolution declares 6 August for the Santísimo Salvador and 19 October for Lunes de Fira. Only these two dates are local non-working days; the programme and full duration of the Fira do not have the same legal scope.
Other events
The Santísimo Salvador observance on 6 August is the other major local date and is distinct from the week of the Fira in October.
