Local festivals of Borriana
The Fallas of Borriana are centred on 19 March, Sant Josep's day, and take place over several days. Streets, squares, casales and the commissions' monuments host the plantà, mascletaes, parades, the floral offering to the Virgen de la Misericordia and the cremà, with the Junta Local Fallera, commissions, Fallas queens and their courts, bands, residents and visitors taking part.
The second major cycle is the Fiestas de la Misericordia, held in the first half of September around the 8th. Its most distinctive tradition is the Batalla de Flores: the Fallas commissions prepare floats and costumes using the paperet technique and parade through confetti and streamers to close the festivities.
