The Fiestas Patronales y de Moros y Cristianos, dedicated to San Vicente Ferrer, are the municipality's main celebration. The comparsas, Municipal Festival Committee, City Council and local organisations turn the town centre into a setting for parades, festive music and religious events.

Usual celebration

The cycle is usually held after Holy Week and lasts about ten days, from the Friday after Good Friday to the Sunday of the following week. Moorish and Christian entradas, embajadas, processions, street bands and gunpowder displays fill the central streets, while the kábilas and festival venues serve as meeting places for the comparsas.

Other events in the cultural programme

The Fogueres i Barraques form the city's other major festival. They take place over several days in July, bringing bonfire monuments, barracas, music and street events to the town.
