Local festivals in Corella

The San Miguel patronal festivities are usually celebrated from 23 to 30 September over eight days. Plaza de España, town-centre streets and the bullring host the opening rocket, street parades, jota music, band performances, bull runs and cuadrilla events; the Giants and Big-Heads group and local pipers accompany many activities organised by the Town Council and community associations.

Virgen del Villar

In April, Corella honours the Virgen del Villar over a weekend culminating on Sunday in the romería to the sanctuary. The floral offering, a Salve sung by Orfeón Virgen del Villar, the bonfire and the sharing of toasted garlic and local wine precede a day of walking, masses and community gatherings in the Villar grounds.

Other celebrations of music, dance and popular tradition

The Corella Music Band, Grupo de Danzas Tambarria, Ribera pipers, txarangas, peñas and youth associations maintain a distinctive festive calendar. Their performances combine with giants and smaller giant figures, fire bulls, street rounds, communal meals and bull runs along the traditional route.
