Local festivals in Los Alcázares
The Nuestra Señora de la Asunción patronal festivities are usually celebrated in August and have their principal day on the 15th. Mass and a land-and-sea procession carry the patroness from the parish church to the promenade and jetty, accompanied by the brotherhood, traditional groups, the Town Council, residents and visitors.
Semana Internacional de la Huerta y el Mar
In the second half of August, this celebration brings together folklore, music, crafts and food rooted in huerta and seafaring culture. Ventorrillos, improvised trovo verse, rondallas and the Bando Internacional de la Huerta y el Mar turn streets, squares and promenades into meeting places for Murcian culture and visiting groups.
Other celebrations
The festivals of Los Narejos, Las Lomas del Rame and other communities preserve processions, open-air dances and neighbourhood gatherings. Noche de San Juan and celebrations beside the beach strengthen the municipality’s everyday relationship with the Mar Menor.
