Local festivals in Bullas
The Virgen del Rosario patronal festivities are usually celebrated from the Friday before to the Tuesday after the first Sunday in October. Over five days, Plaza de España and the streets host the Tío de la Pita, Noche de las Migas, a dawn parade, floats, a floral offering, religious observances, local clubs and music. The Town Council, parish, festival groups, associations and residents sustain the celebration.
Wine Festival
During the two weekends before the patronal festivities, Bullas celebrates the grape harvest and its wine culture. The Wine Museum, wineries, squares and historic centre host demonstrations, routes, food, music, grape treading, the blessing of the first must, the Wine Fountain and a craft market. Growers, winemakers, the Wine Route, Town Council and families take part in this gathering, first held in 2001.
Other celebrations: San Marcos and La Copa
On the weekend nearest 25 April, San Marcos brings together decorated carts, a pilgrimage and the blessing of the fields at La Murta. La Copa honours the Virgen de la Consolación y del Perpetuo Socorro for several days around the first Sunday in September, with migas, a dawn parade, floats, processions and neighbourhood gatherings; it also celebrates San Antón in January.
