Local festivals in Archena
The Corpus Christi and Virgen de la Salud patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several weeks, on variable dates from late May into June. A pilgrimage carries the patroness from her chapel at the spa to the town centre, while the Corpus procession passes through streets decorated with fabrics, tapestries and carpets made from flowers and aromatic plants.
Huerta traditions and community festivities
The Carroza del Vino, Noche Miguera, Moors and Christians parades, ribbon race, cucaña and float parade bring together brotherhoods, kábilas, local clubs, associations, the Town Council and residents. Music, traditional huerta dress and the route beside the river accompany the religious and popular events.
Other celebrations
Carnival and the festivals of local districts and outlying communities complete the municipal calendar. Las Arboledas honours the Virgen de Lourdes in early February, while La Algaida and other settlements preserve patronal celebrations and gatherings organised by local community groups.
