Local festivals in Villanueva del Pardillo

The San Lucas Evangelista patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several days in mid-October, around the 18th. The opening speech and distribution of caldereta stew prepared by residents and local clubs begin a programme of music, cultural and sporting activities, fireworks and events organised by local associations.

Bull runs and festival venues

Daytime and night-time bull runs follow the historic streets to the bullring and bring runners and spectators together. Plaza Mayor and the covered area at San Lucas school host concerts and community gatherings. The Town Council organises the programme with the parish, the San Lucas Brotherhood, clubs, associations and sports groups from the municipality.

Other celebrations: Virgen del Soto pilgrimage

The pilgrimage dedicated to the patron saint is held on the third Sunday in May and extends through the preceding days, when the image is carried from its chapel to the town centre. On the main day, residents accompany the Virgen del Soto back to the chapel at Fuente del Manchego with folk dancing, shawms and drums. The Town Council and Virgen del Soto Brotherhood organise the celebration with support from local clubs, sports groups and businesses.
