Local festivals in Torrelodones
The Virgen del Carmen festivities are usually celebrated over several days in July in La Colonia, with Pradogrande and the area around Parque Camilo Sesto as their principal settings. The service and procession of the image are joined by the proclamation, music, paella competitions, traditional games and activities organised by the peñas.
Town-centre festivities
In August, central Torrelodones hosts the festivities of the Assumption of Our Lady and San Roque. Concerts, street parades, sports, games and community gatherings accompany the patronal events and move the festive atmosphere from La Colonia to the town centre.
Other celebrations: peñas, associations and local tradition
Residents, peñas and associations work with the Town Council on the two principal summer celebrations. The communal sardine meal, bicycle ride, competitions, lemonade and music retain a close-knit character linking each festival to its neighbourhood and public spaces.
