Local festivals in Torrejón de la Calzada

The Santísimo Cristo del Amparo festivities are usually celebrated over several days in May. Services, principal Mass and the procession combine with music, dance, children's activities, sport, the Pintxo Route, fairground attractions and fireworks. The Real Hermandad, Town Council, parish, hospitality businesses, municipal services and more than forty peñas take part in the celebrations.

Devotion and community life

The image of Cristo del Amparo stands at the centre of a religious tradition spanning several centuries. The confraternity organises the services and accompanies the procession, while the peñas fill the streets with colour and music and help with community gatherings at the fairground and across the town centre.

Other celebrations: Nuestra Señora de la Natividad

In September, the town honours Nuestra Señora de la Natividad through religious celebrations, music, performances, family activities and traditions shared in its streets and squares. Families, associations, peñas, the parish and the Town Council take part in festivities that strengthen local community life.
