Local festivals in Navalcarnero

The patronal festival of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción is usually celebrated during the first half of September. Its main day is the 8th, when the patron saint’s image is carried through Navalcarnero in procession.

Usual celebration

The flower offering brings together clubs, sports and cultural associations, and theatre groups. The Golden Age Royal Market fills the historic centre with crafts, local produce and performances, while giants-and-big-heads parades and fireworks complete several days of festivities. The bull runs, many held at night, cover about 600 metres from Calle Alemania to the Félix Colomo bullring; municipal records document this tradition from the late sixteenth century.

Other celebrations

The anniversary of the town’s foundation is remembered in October with cultural events. The Town Council, clubs and local runners also participate in the street parades that precede the bull runs from Plaza de Segovia.
