Local festivals in Móstoles

Móstoles brings together the 2 May festivities, linked to the 1808 uprising, and September's patronal festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora de los Santos and San Simón de Rojas.

Usual celebration

The 2 May festivities last for several days between late April and early May. Plaza de España, Plaza del Pradillo, the town centre and Finca Liana Park host re-enactments of the historical events, Goya-period scenes, the market, parades and concerts. The Town Council organises the celebration with historical associations, local clubs and organisations, the Municipal Police and Civil Protection.

Programme for 2026

The 2026 edition ran from 24 April to 3 May. It included the tribute to the Heroes of Independence, the re-enactment of the events of 2 May in Plaza de España, period scenes, the float competition, the lantern parade and the Goya Market. Music and family events were spread between Finca Liana Park and Plaza de España.

Local public holidays in 2026

The Community of Madrid resolution declares 15 May and 12 September as Móstoles's local non-working public holidays. 2 May belongs to the regional calendar and does not replace those two local dates.

Other events

In September, the shrine of Nuestra Señora de los Santos, Plaza del Pradillo, Plaza de España and Finca Liana host the patronal festivities, including a floral offering, opening speech, events led by local clubs and a procession.
