Local festivals in Meco

The festivities honouring the Virgen de la Cabeza are usually celebrated over the final weekend of April. Religious observances are combined with music, cultural events and gatherings in the municipality's streets and businesses, making devotion to the Virgin a shared spring occasion involving the parish, Town Council, hospitality venues and residents.

Cristo del Socorro

In September, Meco holds its patronal festivities in honour of the Santísimo Cristo del Socorro. A parade of floats and groups traditionally opens several lively days in the streets, with local clubs, brass bands, bull runs, children's activities, homemade vehicle races, open-air dances and fireworks. Associations, municipal services and many residents help organise the celebration.

Carnival and community culture

Carnival includes a street parade involving schools, families and local groups. Costumes, music and collaborative work strengthen a tradition that complements the two main patronal celebrations and maintains the involvement of children and young people in Meco's cultural calendar.
