Festivals in Santiago Apóstol and San Antonio in Collado Villalba

The big week of Collado Villalba is celebrated around Santiago Apóstol, whose main date is 25 July. The proclamation, the gathering of clubs, the orchestras and the popular events occupy the Plaza de la Estación; The big concerts are located in the Plaza de los Belgas and the attractions in the fairgrounds. Among the traditions are the transfer of the image from the hermitage, the mass and the procession of the patron saint, the bullfight and the bullfight organised by the peñas, the "Poor me" and the pyrotechnic closing.

El otro ciclo patronal es San Antonio de Padua, usually celebrated in June in Villalba Pueblo, with a proclamation, religious events, music, clubs and family activities. It is a celebration different from Santiago and explains the first of the two local work days.
