Local festivals in Moaña

The patronal festivities of the Virxe do Carme are usually celebrated over several days in July in central Moaña, around the bandstand and seafront promenade. The festival committee, local clubs and residents participate in processions, music and gatherings rooted in the maritime identity of the Vigo estuary.

San Martiño and parish pilgrimages

San Martiño usually brings several days of events in November to the surroundings of San Martiño church, the historic heart of the town. Every parish preserves its own celebrations, including San Benito, San Bartolomeu, Os Milagres and the Virxe dos Remedios pilgrimage. In Meira, the Romaría de Bronlle occupies the oak grove on 15 August with a communal meal, crafts, music and activities organised by local groups.

Other maritime, musical and food festivals

Other celebrations include Entroido, with the Enterro da Xoubiña and Enterro da Sardiña; Moaña Antiqua, on the last weekend in June around San Martiño; and the Festival Intercéltico do Morrazo, usually held in late July. Días de Mar runs through August with traditional boats and events in A Xunqueira, the Town Council gardens and the bandstand. The Festa do Mexillón, Feira do Mel and Jazz Festival complete the cultural programme.
