Local festivals in Noia
The San Marcos festivities are usually celebrated over four days around 25 April. The town's streets host traditional music, evening dances, cultural events and sports exhibitions. The main day includes a horse fair, one of the oldest in Galicia, with trading, displays and breed competitions, alongside an agricultural and industrial machinery fair. Farmers, exhibitors, musicians and local traders participate in the celebration.
San Bartolomeu and the Empanada Festival
In late August, San Bartolomeu combines concerts, evening dances and competitions with Noia's Empanada Festival. Held since 1979, this food celebration brings together tastings and a competition for home cooks and professionals, linking the patronal festivities with one of the town's most representative foods.
Other celebrations: Medieval Fair
In mid-July, the Medieval Fair fills the streets, squares and buildings of the old town for a weekend. A market for Galician crafts and food is accompanied by falconry, tournaments, processions, music, theatre and workshops, using the heritage of the historic port town as its setting.
