Local festivals in Cambre
The parish patronal festivals are usually celebrated between late May and September. In the municipal centre, Santa María and Nuestra Señora are honoured on 15 August; Anceis and Pravio celebrate San Xoán, while Sigrás honours Santiago and the other parishes retain their own dedications.
Music, food and parish participation
The celebrations combine religious observances with open-air dances, midday music sessions, alboradas, traditional games, sport and fireworks. Festival committees, associations and residents maintain a calendar in which music shares the stage with churrascadas, octopus meals, sardine grills and other community gatherings.
Other celebrations: San Bieito and the Bribes Nativity
The San Bieito pilgrimage usually brings devotees to Mercuín on 11 and 25 July, beside a small chapel and its spring. At Christmas, Asociación O Cruceiro organises a living Nativity in the courtyard of the former Benedictine monastery in Bribes, where residents recreate trades, scenes from the Nativity and traditional food with support from the Town Council.
