Carmen procession and Romería da Fraga

The night procession carries the image from Carmen chapel to Santa María church over an extensive floral carpet, returning the following day. The festivities usually culminate on 24 and 25 July with the Romería da Fraga: families and groups set up wooden huts in the municipal oak wood, sharing food, music and dancing and staying at the site for two days.

Other popular celebrations

The local calendar also includes Entroido and pilgrimages centred on traditional music, dancing, food and community life. The Council, festival committees, cultural associations, musical groups, families and peñas maintain these celebrations, connecting the town's urban spaces with A Fraga and other sites across the municipality.
