Local festivals in Jerez de los Caballeros

Holy Week, the Salón del Jamón Ibérico y la Dehesa, the Festival Templario and San Bartolomé are Jerez de los Caballeros's principal festival references. Holy Week occupies its churches and streets; the Ham and Dehesa Fair focuses on local food and landscape; and the Templar Festival turns the historic centre and Alcazaba into venues for re-enactment, theatre, music and a medieval market.

Usual celebration

The Festival Templario is usually celebrated over four days in July. Its opening parade travels from Santa Lucía Park to the walled Alcazaba, while squares, streets, viewpoints and Popagallina Park host entertainment, crafts, concerts, visits and performances. The Town Council, Jerez a Escena, the Musical Association, other associations, craftspeople and residents all participate.

Other cultural events

Traditional neighbourhood velás, the summer calendar in Valuengo, Brovales and La Bazana, the Rafael Carrasco Municipal Music School and visits to the monumental quarter extend the cultural programme across the town and its outlying settlements.
