Local festivals in La Ràpita

The Sant Jaume Festes Majors are usually celebrated around 25 July and bring together religious observances, music, folk culture, games, club gatherings and maritime activities. Streets, squares and the bay host parades, giants, correfocs, sardanes, jota dancing, the traditional game of morra and rowing regattas that reflect the municipality's lively network of associations.

Virgen del Carmen and maritime tradition

On 16 July, the maritime community honours the Virgen del Carmen. The fishers' guild and local organisations take part in religious and seafaring events, while the fish market, harbour and bay provide settings for gatherings that recall La Ràpita's relationship with fishing, sailing and rowing.

Other celebrations: Orígens in the Xicago district

In October, Orígens transforms the seafaring Xicago district to recreate life in La Ràpita at the beginning of the twentieth century. Residents and associations revive trades, food, music, games and everyday scenes from fishing and farming communities, with craft demonstrations and collective participation that passes on local memory.
