Local festivals in Alcarràs

The two main festivals shape Alcarràs's annual calendar. The Festa Major d'Hivern honours Sant Sebastià, while the Festa Major d'Estiu is distinguished by neighbourhood participation, penyes, decorated streets and popular culture.

Usual celebrations

The winter festival is associated with 20 January and usually lasts four days. Its traditions include the Festa del Mandongo, also known as the Festa del Porc. The summer festival normally lasts five days, in addition to preliminary events, and brings together an opening address, pubilles and hereus, music, theatre, a correfoc, sardanes and activities organised by local groups.
