Festa Major brings together community tradition, the funfair and stalls run by local organisations in early August.

Usual celebration

Festa Major is usually celebrated over several days between late July and early August, with 1 August as its main day. The venues at Passeig del Mar, Jardins Juli Garreta, the former tennis courts and other town-centre spaces host the fair, concerts, sardana dancing, fireworks and family events. The Town Council organises the arrangements, while local organisations run stalls that support their social, cultural and sporting work.

Local public holidays in 2026

The Town Council's official calendar marked 13 February and 1 August as the two local public holidays. They are specific non-working days and do not make the entire Festa Major period a labour holiday.

Other events

Festival Porta Ferrada, the Monestir, the Museu d'Història and the municipal performing-arts programme sustain a cultural calendar that continues through the summer and the rest of the year.
