Local festivals in Palafrugell

The Festa Major de Santa Margarida and Festes de Primavera shape Palafrugell's festival calendar alongside celebrations in its coastal settlements and neighbourhoods.

Usual celebration

The main festival is usually held over several days in July around Santa Margarida on 20 July. Central Palafrugell, Plaça Nova, TeMePé, Museu del Suro and other cultural venues host sardanes, concerts, theatre, popular traditions and family events organised by the City Council and local groups.

Programme for 2026

The edition ran from 11 to 20 July, lasting ten days. El Racó de la Festa Major and Festa a la Nit began on the 16th; the 19th brought together a cork-stripping demonstration, Convit del Pastor i la Sirena and a casteller gathering; the 20th closed with the Santa Margarida service, sardanes, Gegants de Palafrugell, Ball del Festeig, a family show and theatre.

Local public holidays in 2026

The municipal electronic office sets 8 June, the Monday after the Carroussel, and 20 July for Santa Margarida. These are the two local non-working days and do not cover every day in the two festival programmes.

Other events

The 2026 Festes de Primavera ran from 23 May to 8 June, centred on the Carroussel Costa Brava on 7 June and accompanied by popular dance, gegants, float-building activities and neighbourhood gatherings.
