Local festivals in Santa Maria de Palautordera

The Festa Major de l'Aplec del Remei is usually celebrated for more than a week in October. The opening signal and speech begin a programme filling Plaça de la Vila, Plaça de la Sardana, Can Rahull, Parc Pau Casals and the streets with giants, a parade, correfoc, sardanes, theatre, music and community meals. The Town Council, organisations, associations and volunteers organise and sustain the celebration.

Usual celebration of Sant Proget

The Festa Major de Sant Proget, honouring the municipality's co-patron, usually lasts four days around 26 January. Sala de Plens, Can Rahull and other venues host the opening speech, a concert, theatre, sardanes, correfoc, tastings and the Mostra de Cuina Casolana cookery exhibition. Cultural associations, musicians, amateur cooks and residents participate in the winter town festival.

Other events: tradition and community life

The giants, Colla de Diables i Diablesses de Palautordera, sardana groups and cultural associations participate regularly in the festive calendar. Parades, heritage days, popular dancing and community gatherings connect the two town festivals with the neighbourhoods, schools and rural memory of the Baix Montseny area.
