Local festivals in Sant Joan Despí

The Festa Major brings popular culture, music and family activities to Sant Joan Despí's neighbourhoods and public spaces around the feast of Sant Joan.

Usual celebration

The festival is usually celebrated over several days in June and culminates on the 24th. The Town Council, colles, organisations, performers and residents participate in the opening speech, ceremonial procession, giants, correfoc, sardanes, concerts, neighbourhood revetlles, Flama del Canigó, children's events and fireworks.

Programme for 2026

The 2026 Festa Major ran from 18 to 24 June, a seven-day period, with more than seventy activities. The opening speech launched the programme in Plaça del Mercat de les Planes; the first Seguici brought together fifteen colles and organisations, while concerts, the correfoc, revetlles, Flama del Canigó and family events occupied squares, parks and streets.

Local public holidays in 2026

The municipal plenary approved Monday 25 May and Thursday 24 September as the two local public holidays in 2026. The second date corrects the initial publication, which mistakenly stated 29 September.

Other cultural events

The square revetlles and arrival of the Flama del Canigó form the Sant Joan cycle; the annual cultural calendar also includes giants' gatherings, sardanes, the correfoc and activities organised by local groups.
