Local festivals in Sant Cugat del Vallès

The Festa Major de Sant Cugat celebrates Sant Pere around 29 June, filling the town centre, squares, parks and the area around the Monestir with several days of popular culture, music, sport and community gatherings.

Usual celebration

An opening address and the Seguici d'Inici begin a festival organised by the council with extensive involvement from local organisations and colles. Its traditions include the Sant Pere and Ram seguicis, correfocs, giants, castells, sardanes, bastoners and the Ball del Paga-li, Joan, alongside street theatre, circus and family events.

Programme for 2026

The edition ran from 25 to 29 June, with more than 205 activities over five days and 82 participating organisations. Meteorologist Gemma Puig delivered the opening address; music, sport and popular culture were joined by a Trobada Gegantera on the 27th and a funfair in Parc de la Pollancreda. The official programme provided a quiet section along the giants' route and daily periods without music or intense lighting at the fairground.

Local public holidays in 2026

3 March, Sant Medir, and 29 June, Sant Pere, were local non-working public holidays in Sant Cugat and Valldoreix. 16 September, Sant Cebrià, applied locally only in Valldoreix and was not a third municipality-wide public holiday.

The neighbourhood calendar also includes the Festa Major de Mira-sol and other district festivals, alongside events at the Monestir, museums and Teatre-Auditori.
