Local festivals in Polinyà
The summer Festa Major is usually celebrated over four days around the second weekend in July. Plaça de la Vila, Parc de la Riera and Espai Jove host the proclamation, concerts, a communal meal and association gatherings, alongside sardanes, correfoc and a parade of giants, big-head figures and grallers led by Paulina and Paulí.
Winter Festa Major and Sant Sebastià
Around 20 January, Polinyà devotes several days to its winter Festa Major. The most traditional event accompanies the image of Sant Sebastià from the Germandat to Sant Salvador church for mass; afterwards, the cobla brings residents and local organisations together for sardana dancing outside the church.
Other events in the festive calendar
The Cursa Popular, with races and a walk for different age groups, forms part of the winter gathering, while the municipal calendar also includes Carnival, Sant Jordi, Sant Joan and celebrations led by local associations. The Town Council and community groups organise these events in squares, streets and cultural venues across the municipality.
