Local festivals in Palau-solità i Plegamans

The Festa Major is usually celebrated over five days in late August. The Town Council, cultural, youth and sports organisations, and community participation groups organise music, folk culture, family events, sport and gatherings in the municipality's squares, parks and public venues.

Festa Major traditions

Street parades, giants, sardanes, a correfoc and the involvement of local groups make the streets the centre of the celebration. The Maria Víctor popular race and walk, festival stalls and events around Plegamans castle and Can Cortès link heritage, associations and community life.

Other celebrations: Sant Isidre and the Ball de Gitanes

In May, the Sant Isidre festivities revive the town's agricultural tradition through displays, gatherings and the Ball de Gitanes. Local dance groups and schools perform to cobla music with castanets, bell-trimmed espadrilles and the characteristic dress of this Vallès dance, an expression of the municipality's intangible heritage.
