Local festivals in Lliçà d'Amunt

The Festa Major is usually celebrated in early September and is a high point in the municipality's cultural and social life. The Toc d'inici and opening address begin several days in which streets, squares and public venues host giants, sardanes, drumming, a correfoc, concerts, sporting events and community gatherings organised with the participation of the Town Council and local organisations.

Sant Julià and the aplecs

On 7 January, Lliçà d'Amunt honours its patron Sant Julià with an aplec at the parish church. The second weekend after Easter brings the Aplec de Sant Valerià, a historic gathering in the area; the Sant Baldiri and Santa Justa aplecs complete this calendar of community meetings connected with local chapels and landscapes.

Other celebrations: Sant Antoni Abat and carnival

The Sant Antoni Abat festival maintains a local tradition spanning more than eight decades and brings residents, animals and other participants together for its customary events. Carnival fills the streets with a parade led by Rei Carnestoltes and a costume competition involving families, associations and local groups.
